Time to plant radishes

1. Autumn and winter planting

Radishes are mainly planted in the north in autumn and winter. They are usually sown between the Beginning of Autumn and the End of Summer, and can be harvested around the Beginning of Winter. The growing period is about 70 to 120 days. The varieties selected at this time are more cold-resistant and have large fleshy roots.

2. Winter and Spring Planting

Winter and spring radishes are mainly grown in Sichuan and areas south of the Yangtze River because the winters in these areas are not too cold. If sown in late autumn or early winter, it can overwinter in the open field and can be harvested in February or March of the following year.

3. Spring and Summer Planting

The specific time for planting radishes in spring and summer is from March to April, and they can be harvested around May to June. The growing period is 45 to 70 days. The varieties planted during this period are medium-sized, with a shorter supply period and relatively low yields, mainly to solve the problem of the vegetable off-season in May.

4. Summer and Autumn Planting

Summer-autumn planting means sowing in the summer and harvesting in the autumn, with a growing period of 50 to 90 days.
