Camellia growth environment conditions and requirements

Camellia mainly grows in the southern and central regions of my country, and is mostly cultivated in the open field. Camellia likes a warm environment, with a suitable temperature of 18-25℃. It likes to grow in semi-shade and humid environment.

Camellia growth temperature

The suitable temperature for growth is between 20-32 degrees. Be careful if the temperature is too high or too low. Ventilate more in summer. It can withstand low temperatures as low as 15 degrees, so move the potted plants indoors in winter to avoid frostbite.

Camellia growth humidity

During the growing season, the soil in the pot should be kept moist, and watering and spraying should be done frequently to maintain humidity. It is best to maintain it at around 60%. Be careful not to overwater, and the soil should not be allowed to accumulate water, as too much water will cause root rot.

Camellia growing soil

It likes loose, well-drained sandy soil. When potted, you can mix garden soil, sand and peat soil. It is best to add a small amount of base fertilizer to increase the nutrients, so as to meet its soil needs.

Camellia growth cycle and process

Camellia blooms from November to May of the following year, and the season is from late winter to early summer. There are three growth stages of camellia, namely the growth period, bud formation period and fruit development period. The more important period is from late May to the end of October, when camellia enters the bud formation, strong bud and fruit maturity stage, and it is also the stage of nutrient accumulation.
