Nutrient solution : When growing bird of paradise in hydroponics, if you want it to grow more vigorously, you can add an appropriate amount of nutrient solution when it grows new roots. When you first start hydroponics, you should keep it in a cool place. After it grows new roots and has adapted to the hydroponic environment, you can use the nutrient solution.

Environment : Bird of Paradise prefers a warm environment. Therefore, during the maintenance process, it is best to keep the breeding environment at 12℃ to 25℃. In spring, autumn and winter, it is best to grow the plants in a sunny place, and in the high temperature season in summer, appropriate shading should be done.

Fertilizer : Bird of Paradise does not have high requirements for fertilizer, but during the growing period, it still needs to be fertilized every half a month. The best way to fertilize is to use diluted fertilizer, which can not only supplement nutrients but also water the plant, killing two birds with one stone.

How to grow bird of paradise in water

Before the bird of paradise blooms, it should be sprayed with some potassium dihydrogen phosphate, which is good for flowering. You can also use some nutrient solution mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium. After flowering, the remaining flowers should be cut off in time to facilitate the recovery of the plant.

The yellowing of bird of paradise leaves may be caused by too little fertilizer. At this time, you can add a little fertilizer to help it recover. It may also be caused by excessive light. You can trim off the yellow leaves and provide appropriate shade.

Precautions for hydroponic bird of paradise

In summer, the bird of paradise needs to be properly shaded, and in winter, warming measures should be taken in advance so that the plant can safely overwinter. The higher the temperature in summer, the shorter the time for water changes and the cleaner the water. The lower the temperature in winter, the longer the time for water changes.
