Time and method of soil replacement

Smooth sailing soil replacement time

The soil of the plant should be changed every 2 to 3 years, and it is best to change the pot after May because the indoor temperature in Northeast China is still relatively high.

How to change pots and soil smoothly

If it is a newly bought Lucky Globe, it is recommended to grow it for a while before repotting. When repotting, it is recommended that the new pot be larger than the old pot. Take out the plant with the soil. Do not remove the soil at the roots. You need to keep some of the old soil so that it is easier to adapt to the pot. Then place the plant in loose and fertile soil, add soil around it and press it down.

Things to note when changing soil smoothly

If you want to convert the hydroponic culture of the plant into soil culture, you must be careful when adding soil to avoid damaging the root system, as its root system is very fragile. Secondly, when transferring it to the pot for soil culture, you must water it thoroughly and place it out of direct sunlight. It will return to normal in two weeks. When changing the soil, you need to cut off all necrotic roots and dry them in a cool place for dozens of minutes before planting.

Smooth sailing soil replacement

When changing the soil for the plant, you need to choose soil with good air permeability and drainage. You can dig out some soil and mix it with an equal amount of dry sand, or breathable soil such as coal slag, leaf mold, pine needles, etc. You also need to poke some holes under the flowerpot with a toothpick to increase the ventilation of its roots.

Smooth sailing, soil replacement and base fertilizer application

When changing the soil for the plant, you can use organic liquid fertilizer, decomposed cake fertilizer water or dilute compound fertilizer in the soil, and use potassium fertilizer before flowering to promote flowering.

Maintenance method after soil replacement

After changing the soil and potting, the plant is in the seedling-acclimatizing period. The root system of the plant will stop working, and the root system will wilt if it cannot absorb water and nutrients. It is important to note that the potted plants cannot be exposed to direct sunlight during the seedling-acclimatizing period. Once the plants adapt to the new environment, they will naturally recover.

Watering after soil replacement

After changing the soil, the plant should be watered thoroughly immediately, which is called "rooting water". Watering thoroughly is beneficial for the full combination of the plant's roots and the soil. After that, water it thoroughly again according to the dryness and wetness of the soil.

Leaves turn yellow after changing soil

After changing the soil, you need to maintain a certain air humidity. If the air is relatively dry, the leaves of the plant will turn yellow. You can increase the air humidity by spraying water around the plant and maintain it in a well-ventilated place.

See the sun after changing the soil

After changing the soil, the plant needs to be moved to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance. Avoid direct sunlight during the seedling period. Wait until the plant has passed the seedling period and the stems and leaves slowly recover and then gradually accept full sunlight. Under normal circumstances, it can be exposed to the sun after a week.
