How to grow pomegranate in pot

Pomegranate is a deciduous tree or shrub. Branch cuttings and division are common methods of propagation. It likes a warm and sunny environment. A growing environment of 15-25℃ is most suitable for its growth. It is best cultivated in well-drained sandy soil.

When growing potted pomegranates, you can place them in a location with good light conditions. Adequate light energy will make them grow better. The temperature of the growth environment should be controlled between 15-25℃. You don't need to water them too much at ordinary times. Just water them when they are dry. Apply liquid fertilizer twice a month during the growing period.

Watering method

When growing potted pomegranates, just keep the soil slightly moist. There is no need to water too much. Be careful not to pour water on the flowers during the flowering period to avoid flower rot.

Fertilization method

It does not require too much fertilizer to be applied to potted pomegranates. Liquid fertilizer can be applied once every half a month. After fertilizing, water the plant appropriately to allow the fertilizer to fully penetrate the soil and ensure the growth needs.

Pruning methods

When caring for potted pomegranates, you should regularly prune overgrown and old branches. This will not only reduce excessive consumption of nutrients, but also increase light transmittance and reduce pests.

Precautions for potted pomegranate cultivation

The growth of potted pomegranates requires sufficient light to maintain. If there is insufficient light, the branches will become thinner and the leaves will turn yellow. If there is no light for a long time, it may not bloom.

After the potted pomegranate sets fruit, the main diseases are white rot, black pox and anthracnose. Spraying an equal amount of Bordeaux mixture once every half a month can prevent the occurrence of various diseases. When the disease is serious, you can spray fungicides such as mancozeb and carbendazim.
