Dragon fruit growth environment and conditions

Dragon fruit is more suitable for planting in warm and humid areas. It needs sufficient sunlight during maintenance. It is usually more common in the southern region. It needs more watering in spring and summer to allow its roots to grow vigorously. It is native to Central America and is the main fruit for local people. However, there are very few areas in China that are suitable for planting it.

Dragon Fruit Growing Conditions

Dragon fruit prefers a light environment, but it is relatively shade-tolerant and drought-tolerant. It likes to grow in a warm, humid and well-lit environment. When caring for it, it needs a sufficient water environment.

Dragon fruit growth temperature

The temperature suitable for the growth of pitaya is about 30℃. It has a certain ability to withstand high temperatures, but it is best not to exceed 40℃, otherwise it will stop growing. Moreover, it is not very cold-resistant, so the temperature should not be lower than 18℃ during maintenance.

Dragon fruit growth process

After a period of time after sowing, the dragon fruit will germinate and enter the seedling stage, then it will grow more leaves and grow taller, and then it will grow many branches with thorns, and bud and bloom. Pollination will occur during the flowering period, and it will bear fruit. In winter, it will go dormant.

Dragon fruit planting time and method

Dragon fruit can be planted all year round as long as the temperature is suitable. However, when planting, do not plant too deep, and keep the soil moist in the early growth stages. During maintenance, the temperature needs to be kept between 25-35 degrees, and there must be sufficient sunlight.
