How long is the growing period of long beans?

The growth cycle of long beans is about 60-90 days, but there will be differences between different varieties. For example, early-maturing varieties require 55-60 days, mid-maturing varieties require 65-70 days, and late-maturing varieties require 75-80 days.

The growth of long beans goes through several stages including germination, seedling, vine growth, and flowering and pod stages. The plants are mostly planted in spring from March to April and can mature in the summer of the same year.

The growth process of long beans

1. Germination period: After sowing long beans, they will germinate in about 3-4 days under suitable temperature conditions, and the process takes 7-10 days.

2. Seedling stage: From the appearance of the first pair of true leaves of beans until 7-8 compound leaves grow, it takes 15-20 days.

3. Vine growing period: During this period, flower buds will appear on the long beans, the main vine will grow rapidly, and rhizobia will gradually form.

4. Flowering and pod stage: It takes 50-60 days from the sprouting to the harvesting of long beans. The pods of the plant are formed and the stems and leaves continue to grow.

Long beans growth period maintenance management

1. When the side buds of long beans grow to 3 cm, they should be pruned in time. This can improve the light transmittance of the plant and promote early flowering and pod formation.

2. During the pod-setting stage, long beans should be topped and pinched in time. This can increase the number of flower buds and improve the pod-setting rate of the plant.
