Forage growth conditions and characteristics

Forage growing conditions

Forage grass is generally more suitable for growing in an environment with sufficient water and fertilizer and a relatively warm climate. It grows better in a humid climate with abundant sunlight and precipitation. Generally, forage grass is mostly planted in places with grasslands.

Different types of forage grass have different requirements for environmental temperature. Generally, there are cold-intolerant and cold-tolerant varieties. Usually, the most suitable growth temperature for cold-tolerant varieties is around 15-25 degrees, and the most suitable temperature for cold-intolerant forage grass is around 25-35 degrees.

Forage growth period and process

Grass grows mostly in semi-humid subtropical and temperate zones. Grass can generally be planted in any season, but autumn is the best time to plant it. Grass grows lushly in spring and autumn.

When growing, forage grass goes through several stages: germination, seedling, growth, flowering and maturity. Generally, the growth cycle of forage grass is relatively short. It usually only takes about three months from planting to harvesting.

Pasture Planting Process and Methods

1. Select the land: When planting forage grass, choose a flat, deep, fertile and well-drained area.

2. Seed selection: Choose good quality forage seeds, so that you can get good palatability and nutritional value.

3. Planting: Germinate the seeds before planting, then turn the soil over, scatter the seeds, and then cover them with a layer of soil.
