The alias of papaya is hawthorn, wood plum, crabapple, and smooth-skinned papaya. There are many types of papaya, and there are four common ones, mainly hairy papaya, wrinkled papaya, smooth-skinned papaya and papaya. The common papaya on the market refers to the last type.

Generally, papaya is planted in sandy soil with good light, sufficient soil fertility and loose soil.
