How often should I water my Dendrobium?

In spring, summer and autumn, it is usually necessary to water the plants in the morning once a day, or once every 3-5 days. In late autumn and winter, stop watering and let the plants dormant. You can use well water, river and lake water, and mung bean water for watering.

Dendrobium watering method

1. Growing season : In spring, summer and autumn, it is best to water the plants between 9 and 11 in the morning. When the temperature in summer is higher than 30°C, pay attention to ventilation and moisture retention, and do not water the plants at high temperatures. And after watering, turn on the circulating fan to dry the water on the leaves as soon as possible to avoid diseases.

2. Watering in winter : When the temperature drops below 10℃ in winter, the plant will enter a certain dormant period and no watering is allowed. If the temperature exceeds 10℃ in winter, watering can be carried out appropriately. The watering time should be set during sunny hours.

Dendrobium watering precautions

1. Do not water before the substrate is dry : Pay attention to check that the planting substrate is drying quickly but not completely. It is appropriate to water it when it is completely dry. Make sure to water the substrate thoroughly when watering, otherwise do not water it.

2. Water evenly : When there is insufficient water, it is mostly because the watering is not uniform. At this time, you need to improve the watering method. If the substrate is completely dry, it will become difficult to absorb water and repeated watering is required to recover.

What to do if you overwater your Dendrobium?

When there is too much water, the plant growth will become slow and the roots are prone to necrosis. You can stop watering to increase the air in the substrate, and then start watering after the plant resumes growth.
