How to deal with Lithops after flowering

How to deal with Lithops after flowering

1. Provide sufficient light

After Lithops blooms, the lighting time can be appropriately extended. During the flowering period, more nutrients may be consumed, so the plant can synthesize more nutrients by increasing the light time. But be careful not to expose it to too much light.

2. Don’t water too much

After flowering, the plant is more sensitive to water, so the watering requirements are also higher. Don't water too much, otherwise the plant will rot easily. The leaves may become wrinkled after flowering, but don't worry too much. The leaves contain a lot of water storage, so it's okay for the time being. Just don't let this phenomenon last for a long time.

3. How to pollinate and obtain seeds

If you need to propagate, you can pollinate it during flowering to obtain its seeds. The specific method is to dip the pollen from a flower with a pollination pen on the third day of its flowering, and then apply it to the stigma of a flower on another plant. If pollinated successfully, the flowers will become very brightly colored. At this time, seed pods will form inside it. When they are mature, you can remove them and open them to get the seeds.
