Introduction to the growth of bougainvillea

Bougainvillea prefers a growing environment with plenty of sunlight and high temperatures. It is not very demanding on the soil, but can grow well in loose, well-drained and fertile sandy loam. Its origin is in tropical America and it is now cultivated in southern my country for viewing.

Bougainvillea growth cycle

Bougainvillea can usually be grown for at least one or two years. It likes a humid climate and a sunny environment. It has strong growth potential, is not cold-resistant, and is drought-resistant and salt-alkali-resistant. It likes water but avoids waterlogging. Insufficient light during maintenance will affect its flowering.

Bougainvillea growth cycle management

Bougainvillea grows fast and has a long growing period. my country now has more than 2,000 acres of bougainvillea bases, with more than 200 varieties planted and an annual output of up to 6 million pots.

Temperature management : The suitable growth temperature of Bougainvillea is between 20 and 30 degrees. It should be placed in a sunny place during its growing period. The temperature during winter maintenance should be kept between 10-15℃, and the minimum temperature should not be lower than 3℃. In spring, it should be placed in a ventilated and sunny place for maintenance.

Fertilization management : The amount of fertilizer for Bougainvillea varies with the season. Stop fertilizing in winter, apply sufficient base fertilizer when planting or potting in spring, and apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering. Apply fertilizer and water once a week in summer and reduce the amount of fertilizer in autumn.
