Begonia seeds sowing time

After the Begonia seeds are mature, they can be sown immediately after being harvested. The germination rate is very high. The sowing time is April-May in spring, and August-September in autumn.

After sowing the begonia, it needs to be cared for for about 145-160 days before it can bloom. If you want the begonia to bloom more flowers, it needs to be exposed to sunlight in early spring, and you can apply potassium dihydrogen phosphate to it before it blooms.

Begonia seeds sowing in summer

The summer is hot and water evaporates quickly, making it difficult for Begonia seeds to grow. It is not recommended to plant them in the summer. It is best to sow them in spring and autumn.

Begonia seeds sowing method

Begonia seeds can be mixed with fine garden soil and then evenly spread on the surface of the soil. There is no need to cover them with soil. You can cover them with plastic film to keep them moist and warm. Place them in a cool and ventilated place. If you place them in a greenhouse, you need to shade them. The temperature conditions of 15-22℃ are suitable for rooting and germination, which will take about 1 week.

Begonia Seed Sowing and Management

1. Before sowing begonias, you can soak the seeds in warm water to allow the seeds to absorb enough water, which can increase the germination rate. It is necessary to process the seeds when planting begonias, so that the begonias can grow better.

2. After sowing the Begonia seeds, provide a suitable growth environment and they will germinate quickly, usually in about 7-10 days.

3. Begonia seedlings can be transplanted when they grow to 1 cm, and can be planted in pots when they grow to 5 cm. They can be pinched to promote branching and abundant flowering. Begonia likes shade and humidity, and avoids direct sunlight, especially in summer. The potting soil should be fertile, loose and breathable leaf mold. The ambient temperature in winter cannot be lower than 10 degrees, and the leaves should be kept dry.
