How to change the soil in porcelain flower pots and what is the time and method for changing the soil

When to change the soil in porcelain flower pots

If you are in the southern region, it is more appropriate to change the soil of porcelain flower pots in February or March every spring. If you are in the northern region, it is appropriate to choose March or April.

How to change the soil and pot of porcelain flower pots

First, take the plant out of the porcelain flowerpot, remove old and bad roots, and also cut off the horizontal branches, weak branches, and overlapping branches inside the plant. Soak the roots in a solution of carbendazim for sterilization, then take them out and place them in a ventilated place to dry.

Prepare a new porcelain flowerpot that is similar in size to the plant. The soil should be loose and breathable, rich in humus. Then fill some soil in the flowerpot, plant the plant in it, fill in the remaining soil, and gently compact the soil. Water it thoroughly once.

Precautions for changing soil in porcelain flower pots

1. It is best not to water the porcelain flower pot a few days before changing the soil. Wait until the soil is half dry before changing it. If the soil is too wet, the stickiness between the pot wall and the soil will be too great, which is not conducive to the overall removal of the soil ball. If it is too dry, it will affect the growth of the plant.

2. When changing the soil in a porcelain flowerpot, if the plant is directly potted without pruning, the plant may shed leaves to adapt to the root system damaged by the repotting.

3. It is better to use organic fertilizer soil or nutrient soil when changing the soil in porcelain flower pots or repotting. You can put a soil layer of about 3 cm in the flower pot, place fresh meat skin, a coarse sand layer of about 5 cm, and a soil layer of about 3 cm.
