The fastest way to root blueberry cuttings

Blueberry cutting time

Blueberry shoots grow fastest in spring, so if you want them to take root quickly after cuttings, you should choose spring cuttings from February to April. This will give the blueberry branches enough vitality to grow, thereby promoting the rapid growth of new roots and avoiding slow rooting or difficulty in survival.

Simple method of blueberry cuttings

First, blueberries should be selected from 1-2 year old healthy and pest-free branches, inserted vertically into the culture medium, with the top bud exposed, and then sprayed with water once. Keep the soil moist after cutting to avoid water accumulation, and do not fertilize before rooting. During the rooting process, two methods should be adopted to prevent diseases: ventilation and removal of diseased plants.

Blueberry cutting rooting method

The blueberry-treated branches can be directly cut into loose substrates, but be careful to expose the buds at the top of the branches, and the depth should be 2-3 nodes of the branches. Then use a watering can to spray water to add an appropriate amount of water. If you want it to take root quickly, you can also apply rooting powder before cutting.

How long does it take for blueberry cuttings to take root?

After blueberry cuttings, rooting and maintenance work should be done well, water appropriately, spray with a sprayer, avoid water accumulation, and keep the rooting temperature at around 22~27℃. Wait for about 10~20 days, and the cuttings will quickly grow new roots.

How often should I water newly planted blueberries?

After the blueberry cuttings are taken, pay more attention to watering to keep the soil moist at all times, but do not water too much, otherwise it will be difficult to take root. Wait for about 10-20 days for the roots to take root, then you can expose it to the sun.
