Nameko mushroom growth cycle

The growth period of Nameko Agaricus is 13 to 14 months. Nameko Agaricus is a low-temperature fungus. Generally, after being sown in spring, it takes until autumn and winter for mushrooms to grow. However, if some people manage it well, mushrooms can grow in about 7 months.

The best time to cultivate Nameko mushrooms is to use semi-cooked materials. It is best to choose the early spring season when the temperature is below 8℃. The best sowing period is from mid-February to mid-March. Nameko mushrooms are mainly produced in the southern part of Liaoning Province, China. The main production areas are Hebei Province, Liaoning Province, Heilongjiang Province, etc., and they are native to Japan.

Growth rate of Nameko

The growth rate of Agaricus sphaerocephala is relatively slow. First, the spores colonize and germinate to form mycelium, which then matures and then reproduces to form fruiting bodies. When the fruiting bodies mature, they eject spores to complete a life cycle.

Management of the Growth Cycle of Nameko Oyster Mushroom

Temperature management: Pleurotus eryngii is a low-temperature species. The fruiting body grows best at 10-15℃. The fruiting body forms slowly at temperatures above 20℃. It can also grow at around 5℃, but not vigorously. In late autumn after September, the natural temperature difference is large. We should make full use of the natural temperature difference, strengthen management, and promote high mushroom production. The temperature in the fruiting room should not be lower than 15℃ when the temperature is low at night; and the temperature in the fruiting room should be high at noon when ventilation is required to keep the temperature of the fruiting room below 22℃.

Fertilization management: As the metabolism of nameko mushroom is vigorous and the nutrient consumption is high, topdressing is effective and can supplement some nutrients, so that the mycelium can maintain the ability to produce mushrooms for a longer period of time. Topdressing with 2% glucose is beneficial to the formation and growth of fruiting bodies and increases the yield of nameko mushrooms.
