Are roses shade-loving or sun-loving plants?

Do roses prefer shade or sun?

Rose is a sun-loving plant. It is the general name for some plants of the genus Rosa, and there are many species. Rose is a very popular flower. It likes light very much, so when growing it, it must be placed in a light environment so that it can absorb sufficient sunlight and make its flowers bright.

Rose basking in the sun

Roses have requirements for light. They need to be placed in a well-lit place to absorb enough sunlight. This will help the growth of the plant and is also beneficial to the growth of its flowers. Especially during its growth and flowering period, it should receive more sunlight.

However, if there is insufficient light, its flowers will easily wither. Although roses can bask in the sun, they are also afraid of excessive exposure. Generally, the light is stronger in summer, so try to avoid excessive exposure to the sun.

Growth habits of roses

1. Roses like to grow in places where the soil is deep and fertile, and the land is permeable and breathable.

2. The soil needs to be kept moist during its growth period, but it is not tolerant to waterlogging, so excessive water accumulation should be avoided during the rainy season to prevent its roots from rotting and dying.

3. It likes sunlight, and in order to keep its flowers bright and long-lasting, it must always get sufficient light, but it is not sun-resistant, so it must also be avoided from direct sunlight.

4. It is resistant to drought and barrenness, so it can survive in slightly moist soil.

5. It is cold-resistant and does not need protection in winter. It can survive short-term low temperatures of -20℃, but it is more resistant to high temperatures and can grow even when the summer temperature is above 30℃, so its suitable growth temperature is 20-32℃.
