Is Aloe Vera a shade or sun-loving plant?

Does Aloe prefer shade or sun?

Aloe vera is a sun-loving plant and a perennial evergreen herb of the Liliaceae family. Aloe vera likes light very much, so when caring for it, be sure to place it in a sunny environment. This will not only allow it to absorb sufficient sunlight, but also be better for its growth condition, allowing its leaves to grow thick and beautiful.

Aloe vera sunbathing

When caring for aloe vera, you can place it in a sunny place to allow it to absorb enough sunlight, which will help its growth. However, the light in summer is relatively strong, so try to avoid direct sunlight.

Aloe vera can be exposed to the sun, but it is also afraid of strong light. Therefore, if you want it to grow faster during the cultivation period, you need to ensure that it receives sufficient light, especially during its growth period, it should receive more sunlight. However, when it is just planted, it should not be exposed to the sun. You can let it see appropriate light in the morning, and then let it see the sun after about half a month.

Aloe vera growth habits

Aloe vera likes to grow in places with good drainage and loose soil. At the same time, it is afraid of cold and water, so remember to drain the water in time in rainy weather to prevent excessive water accumulation and root rot. Finally, it also likes light, so it needs frequent sunlight to thrive.

Aloe vera likes to grow in soil that is both permeable and breathable, and is drought-resistant; at the same time, it likes light but is not sun-resistant, so direct sunlight should be avoided; it has high temperature requirements and is not cold-resistant, and will be frostbitten by low temperatures in winter. Its suitable growth temperature is 20~30℃; it needs sufficient water during the growth period, but is not waterlogged.
