Is Tuberose a shade-loving or sun-loving plant?

Does Tuberose prefer shade or sun?

Tuberose is a sun-loving plant. Its growing season is generally concentrated in summer, and the suitable temperature for growth is around 20℃-30℃.

The flower bud differentiation of tuberose takes place during the growing season in late spring and early summer. The minimum temperature of its growing environment needs to be controlled above 20℃, and sufficient light must be ensured.

The flowering period of tuberose is from the end of April to the end of August every year. During this period, it is best to place it in a place with better light. More sunlight will help increase its flowering.

Tuberose basking in the sun

Tuberose has a relatively high demand for light, but if a tuberose that has been placed in a semi-shaded environment for a long time is suddenly moved under strong light, the leaves can easily be burned, especially in the summer when the sun is particularly strong, so special attention needs to be paid.

Tuberose can be exposed to the sun. If you let it bask in the sun more often in your spare time, it will grow well in full-sun or half-sun conditions. This is very helpful in increasing the number of flowers and making its flowers more fragrant.

Growth habits of tuberose

Tuberose is suitable for growing in well-drained, loose and fertile soil. It prefers a warm, humid and sunny environment and cannot grow in waterlogged and arid areas. Tuberose is self-pollinating, and because its pistil matures relatively late and has a slightly lower fruit setting rate, it requires artificial pollination.

The biggest growth characteristic of tuberose is that its flowers are closed during the day and open at night. When they open at night, they emit a rich fragrance. If you grow it, try to place it outdoors or in a ventilated place near the window.
