The soil matrix should be properly configured: plastic pots and purple clay pots are preferred. If planted outdoors, ceramic pots are preferred. Sandy soil will be sufficient. Sandy soil is looser and has good air permeability.

Water just right: Daily watering should be carried out according to the principle of watering when the soil is dry and wet, avoid watering too frequently or causing the soil in the pot to become dry. In summer, increase the amount of watering appropriately, generally watering once in the morning and once in the evening is sufficient.

Suitable for fertilization: During daily maintenance, you can use some fertilizer cake water to dilute and water it, or you can use some slow-release fertilizer to bury it shallowly. Do not apply too much fertilizer, otherwise it will easily burn the roots. Fertilizing once a month is enough.

Suitable light: Potted plants should be moved indoors in winter and placed in a sunny place so that they can receive sufficient direct sunlight. After sprouting in April of the following year, they should be moved outdoors and placed in a sunny place sheltered from the wind for maintenance. After stable growth, they should be gradually moved to a ventilated sunny or semi-shaded environment and then managed normally.

Repotting at the right time: Repotting should be done every 2 to 3 years. Pay attention when repotting. If any roots are rotten or growing poorly, cut them off in time.

Timely prevention of pests and diseases: The main pest of home-grown lucky bamboo is mites, commonly known as red spiders. Once the disease is found, it should be dealt with immediately. Mite cleaner, aphid mite killer, triazotin can be used for leaf spraying.

Key points that cannot be ignored when cultivating lucky bamboo in soil

Temperature: The lowest temperature cannot be lower than 5 degrees. Avoid direct sunlight in summer and keep warm in winter. The best growth temperature is 18-24℃. The overwintering temperature should not be lower than 10℃ to keep it evergreen and not wither.

Pruning: Pruning is usually suitable in May or June, starting from 10 cm to 15 cm away from the potting soil. The pruned branches can be replanted by cuttings.
