Can lily bamboo be hydroponically cultivated?

Lily bamboo is an excellent indoor foliage plant. People often place it in potted plants on balconies and windowsills for viewing and flower arrangement. It is generally grown in warm and moist soil, but it can also be grown hydroponically. The flowers of hydroponic lily bamboo are more beautiful than those grown in soil.

Lily Bamboo Hydroponic Cultivation Methods and Key Points

1. Cutting time: Lily bamboo can be grown in water, but you must choose the right time. It is best to choose March or April in spring when the climate is mild and suitable, as it is easier to take root.

2. Plant treatment: Before hydroponics, cut the lower end of the lily bamboo plant into an inclined cross-section to increase the water absorption area. The leaves at the lower end should be removed, and the branches should be disinfected, soaked and dried.

3. Container water quality: It is best to choose a glass container, which is not only beautiful, but also allows you to clearly observe the changes in the roots; the water quality can be tap water that has been left standing and dried. You can add a little nutrient solution to the water to promote growth. Place the container in a bright, sunny location and change the water regularly.

Precautions for growing lily bamboo in water

1. If the temperature is too low or the water has not been dried, it will affect the rooting of the lily bamboo, so it is best to keep the temperature at 20-22 degrees and dry the water.

2. The water in the container should be changed every three or four days at the beginning. After a period of time, when the lily bamboo grows small white roots, the water should not be changed frequently.

3. When caring for lily bamboo, do not place it where it can be blown by TV, air conditioner or electric fan, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow.
