Can rubber trees be hydroponically cultivated? Hydroponics methods and precautions

Can rubber trees be grown hydroponically?

Rubber trees can be grown hydroponically, which has certain advantages over soil cultivation, because hydroponic rubber trees only need clean water, and nutrient solution can be added to it regularly. It will not cause various problems caused by fertilizing and watering in soil cultivation, and can avoid the growth of bacteria.

Methods and key points of hydroponic cultivation of rubber trees

1. Choose branches

Select a small rubber tree that is strong and disease-free, cut branches about 20 cm long, perform appropriate pruning, cut off all the leaves near the bottom of the container, and then wait for the wounds to dry.

2. Carry out hydroponics

Put an appropriate amount of clean water in the container and insert the treated branches into natural water. Change the water source once a week in the later stage and keep them in a cool and ventilated place. After about half a month, the branches will take root and sprout.

Precautions for water-growing rubber trees

1. Rubber tree is a plant with strong shade tolerance. When cultivating rubber tree in water, it can be placed in a semi-shaded position with scattered light. Remember to change the water source every 15-20 days so that it can grow better.

2. Rubber trees like warm and humid environments. During hydroponic care, it is best to provide them with an ambient temperature of 22-32°C. The plant is not cold-resistant, and the lowest wintering temperature is around 8°C.
