Can Vinca be hydroponically cultivated?

Vinca can be grown in water. Although the vinca grown in water may not be as strong as the one grown in soil, it is more beautiful than the one grown in soil and more suitable to be placed in the living room for house decoration.

Methods and key points of hydroponic cultivation of Vinca

1. Plant treatment:

Choose a fresh, rootable branch from a healthy vinca, cut it off, clean it, disinfect it and dry it. Then prepare a transparent glass container, add a small amount of water to it, and put the treated branch in it, and also add a few drops of plant nutrient solution. Be careful not to make the water too deep, and leave some roots of the branch exposed above the water.

2. Hydroponic environment:

Place the hydroponic Vinca in a place without strong light, pay attention to shade, change the water frequently and keep the water clean. After the Vinca grows new roots, you can reduce water changes and start normal maintenance.

Precautions for growing Vinca in water

1. Lighting:

Hydroponic Vinca prefers a semi-shaded environment and is not resistant to strong light, so in the early stages of hydroponics, it must not be exposed to strong light, as that may affect the root growth of the Vinca. Even during the maintenance period after the roots have grown, try to place the hydroponic Vinca in a place with softer sunlight.

2. Change water:

In the early stage of hydroponic cultivation of Vinca, change the water once a day; after it takes root, change the water every 3 days; after about half a month of hydroponics, the plant will basically grow stably and strong, and at this time you can change the water every 10 days or so.
