Dracaena can be grown in water, which is clean and hygienic, highly ornamental, and convenient for changing water and adding nutrient solution. Soil cultivation requires fertilization once a month, and the flowerpot must be changed every two to three years to provide new soil to maintain the nutrients needed for growth. Hydroponics of Dracaena is more intuitive and quick.

Hydroponic cultivation method of Dracaena

1. Cut off the dragon blood tree and keep only the top leaves. Dry it in the sun for a few days. After the cut surface is dry, put one-third of the branch into water. Change the water about once every three to five days. Add a small amount of carbendazim aqueous solution for preservation and disinfection. Place it in a well-lit place and use a black plastic bag to shade it.

2. After the roots grow in the water, add some nutrient solution appropriately. Add clean water about once every seven days. If it is in the hot summer, the nutrient solution needs to be replaced every 20 days or so. In the winter, replace the nutrient solution once every one or two months. The nutrient solution needs to cover at least one-third of the root system.

Precautions for growing dragon blood tree in water

1. Light: Dracaena likes sunlight, and the best growing environment is one with sufficient sunlight. If it is kept in a dark and humid environment for a long time, the leaves may dry and turn yellow, the roots may rot and affect the survival rate.

2. Temperature: Dracaena likes warmth and is more suitable for growth between 20 and 28 degrees. When the temperature is below 15 degrees, the Dracaena may enter dormancy, the roots absorb less water, and yellow spots appear on the leaves.

1. Fertilization: When changing the water of hydroponic Dracaena, change the nutrient solution at the same time. In summer, the temperature rises and the air is dry. To keep the leaves clean and moist, you can spray clean water on the leaves.

2. Pests and diseases: The main insects that damage hydroponic dragon blood trees are red spiders. Once discovered, they are mainly caught manually and their eggs are destroyed to avoid secondary damage.
