Melon planting time and method

Melon planting time and method

Melon planting time

There are many varieties of melons. They are generally propagated by seeds. The most suitable planting time is between August and October, and no later than November. If planted in spring, it can be done between February and March. However, for some varieties, the planting time needs to be determined according to the climate at the time.

Melon planting method

1. Seed selection and germination: When planting melons, you need to choose plump, healthy, and undamaged seeds, then dry them and disinfect them. Then soak them in warm water for about half an hour, and finally take them out to dry, and place them in a place with a room temperature of about 25 degrees for germination.

2. Select the soil: When planting melons, they need a suitable growth environment. Finally, use sandy soil that is rich in organic matter, fertile, and has a deep soil layer. After selecting the soil, you need to apply enough base fertilizer.

3. Sowing and seedling raising: After germination, the melon seeds need to be placed in a nutrient pot with nutrient soil, and then covered with a film to raise seedlings. After the seedlings grow out, thinning can be carried out.

Melon planting precautions

1. Melon is relatively drought-resistant but not water-resistant. Because its root system is relatively shallow, it requires relatively high soil humidity, but has relatively low air humidity requirements.

2. During the maintenance period, melons need a suitable temperature environment, preferably kept between 18-25 degrees, so that they can grow well.
