Green pepper planting time

Green peppers are mostly planted in spring. The specific time depends on the region. If it is in the northern region with lower temperatures, it can be done in mid-April. If it is in the warm southern region, it should be planted around the Qingming Festival. After sowing, the temperature is suitable and seedlings will emerge soon.

Green pepper planting method

1. Seedling cultivation: Green pepper seeds need to be germinated before sowing. They can be soaked in warm water for seven or eight hours, and then placed in an environment of 25 to 30 degrees for germination. After germination, they can be sown. The soil temperature after planting must not be lower than 17 degrees.

2. Land preparation: The planting land should be loose, well-drained and fertile. Loosen the soil in advance to increase drainage. Also apply decomposed organic fertilizer to improve soil fertility.

3. Planting: The root system of green pepper is relatively shallow. Before planting, you can dig a shallow trench and then place the seedlings in it, covering them with a thin layer of soil. Control the density when planting. Generally, 3,000 to 4,000 plants are planted per acre, with a row spacing of 50 to 60 cm and a plant spacing of 25 to 33 cm.

Green pepper planting precautions

Green peppers like a warm and humid environment and like fertilizer, but they are not resistant to high temperatures and high fertilizers. Therefore, during the later management, you must pay attention to the amount of water, fertilizer application and ambient temperature. When the temperature is high, ventilate in time, water frequently to cool down, and add fertilizer in time during the growing season to ensure sufficient nutrients. In the initial stage, nitrogen fertilizer should be used as the main fertilizer, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be gradually added in the later stage.
