Planting time of autumn chrysanthemum

Autumn chrysanthemum is propagated by sowing and cuttings. The suitable germination temperature is between 17-20 degrees. It is suitable for planting in July-September in autumn, and can also be carried out in February-May in spring.

How to plant autumn chrysanthemum

1. Soil configuration

Autumn chrysanthemum is suitable for planting in loose, breathable and fertile soil. Choose a mixed soil containing garden soil, vermiculite, perlite, sandy soil and humus to ensure that the soil is loose, fertile, well-drained and breathable.

2. Seed propagation

When sowing chrysanthemum, first soak the seeds in hot water for 3 to 4 hours, then spread the seeds evenly in the soil, keeping the distance between the seeds at 5 to 8 cm, fill with a layer of coarse stone sand with a thickness of 1.5 to 2 cm, and water thoroughly once so that it can penetrate to the bottom of the soil to keep the soil moist.

3. Cutting propagation

When cutting chrysanthemum, you need to choose healthy and sturdy seedlings or branches as cuttings, cut off the side branches and other leaves of the seedlings, cut off the bottom of the branches at a 45-degree angle, apply carbendazim, place in a ventilated and semi-shaded environment to dry, and then plant.

4. Maintenance and management

After planting, just water it once. Wait until the plant has grown for 2 to 3 days, water it again. Wait until the plant has grown for 5 to 7 days, water it normally, and water it again when the soil becomes dry.

Precautions for planting autumn chrysanthemum

After the seedlings of autumn chrysanthemum emerge from the soil, they can be watered in time to keep the soil slightly moist, and urea solution can be added every 20-25 days, and an appropriate amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be applied every 30 days.
