Is growing pepper profitable?

At present, growing Sichuan pepper is still relatively profitable, because its market price can reach 50-60 yuan per catty. The market demand has also been increasing year by year in recent years, and the planting area is not high, so the prospects are still very good.

Profits and benefits of growing pepper

Sichuan pepper generally starts to bear fruit stably ten years after being planted. Each acre of land can produce about 100 kilograms of dry goods, so after deducting costs, the net income per acre can reach 5,000 yuan. Moreover, the trees have a long lifespan, so the economic benefits are good.

High-yield cultivation techniques of Chinese prickly ash

1. Seed selection and collection

If you want a high yield of Sichuan pepper, it is best to collect seeds from high-yielding and resistant mother plants. After collecting the seeds, they should be dried in the shade in time, turned over 3-5 times a day, and never piled together.

2. Seed treatment

The seed shell of Sichuan pepper is hard and its oil content is thick, making it difficult to germinate. Therefore, it needs to be soaked in clean water for about 3-4 hours before planting. Wait until the seeds turn slightly white before sowing.

3. Sowing

It is more suitable to sow Sichuan pepper in March and April. At this time, the seeds germinate quickly and emerge evenly, and the yield in the later period will be higher.
