Tiger Pilan cutting time

If you want to propagate Sansevieria by cuttings, you can do it in May or June, but it can also be propagated in spring, summer, and autumn. Cuttings can be carried out when the ambient temperature is above 15 degrees. Be sure to avoid winter. If the temperature is too low, it will be difficult for it to survive and the leaves will easily rot.

Tiger Pilan cutting method

1. Prepare the soil

Sansevieria does not have high requirements for the soil for cuttings. It only needs to be loose and well-drained. You can prepare river sand and leaf mold, mix them evenly and use them as culture soil.

2. Select cuttings

On a 1-2 year old snake plant, select healthy, disease- and insect-free leaves, cut them with sterilized scissors, trim off a part, apply rooting powder on the wound, place in a ventilated place to dry for 5-7 days, and then carry out cuttings after the wound is dry.

3. Cuttings

Prepare a suitable container, fill it with culture soil, smooth the soil, use chopsticks to poke a few holes in the soil, the holes should be 1-2 cm deep, insert the snake plant leaves into the holes, cover them with a thin layer of soil, and water them appropriately to keep the soil slightly moist.

Maintenance of Tiger Pilan cuttings

After the snake plant is cut and grafted, if the temperature is controlled at around 20℃, it will take root in about 30 days. It can then be transplanted into a new pot and placed in a cool and ventilated place for 5-7 days, and then placed in a well-lit location for normal care and management.
