When to plant radish

There are many varieties of radishes, and there are few restrictions on planting time. They can be sown and planted all year round. The planting time can be chosen according to the local climate and variety differences. Generally, most of them are sown in autumn from September to October.

1. Choose the soil

When choosing soil for radish, you should choose soil that is fertile, loose, rich in organic matter, and has good drainage. Before planting, you should prepare the land and apply fertilizer to ensure that the soil is loose and has sufficient base fertilizer.

2. Sowing method

Choose high-quality seeds, expose them to the sun for 2-3 hours, water them sufficiently before sowing to keep the soil permeable, and sow them at a moderate density, sowing 3-4 seeds per hole. After sowing, apply a certain amount of base fertilizer per acre and cover with about two centimeters of fine soil.

3. Watering management

Radish requires a lot of water, but cannot tolerate waterlogging. It is necessary to drain the water in time after heavy rain. Too much water can easily lead to root rot. Watering should be continued during the hot and dry season, but try to avoid watering at noon, otherwise it will easily lead to withering of tender leaves and rot of fleshy roots.

4. Fertilization management

Radish has very high requirements for nutrition. After the seedlings grow out, apply fertilizer to protect the seedlings. When a pair of true leaves grow, apply some thin fertilizer. After the second thinning, combine weeding with topdressing. During the period of fleshy root expansion, more potassium fertilizer can be applied.

Radish planting precautions

After the radish is sown, do a good job of water and fertilizer management, water according to different growth periods, but do not allow water to accumulate in the soil. During the growing period, also pay attention to weeding, remove the weeds that appear, and prevent excessive consumption of nutrients.
