Suitable soil requirements for Jade Dew

Jade is a succulent plant that is not tolerant to water and humidity. Soil preparation is very important for its growth and maintenance. Appropriate soil preparation can promote good growth. It cannot grow in stuffy and airtight soil. It likes loose and soft soil with good air permeability and drainage, and must also have certain nutrients.

How to prepare soil for Jade Dew

1. Leaf mold + coarse sand

If you want to prepare the jade plant potting soil yourself, it is recommended to use leaf mold, coarse sand or vermiculite, and then mix them in equal proportions before use. Of course, in order to increase the nutrients in the potting soil, you can also mix some decomposed bone meal into it. In this way, the jade plant will grow better.

2. Perlite + Planting Stone + Peat Soil + Vermiculite

You can also use perlite, planting stone, peat soil, and vermiculite and mix them in a ratio of 1:1:2:1. The soil prepared in this way can ensure permeability and nutrition, which is suitable for the growth of jade plant.

Steps for changing the soil for Jade Dew

1. Prepare the flower pot: After the soil for Jade Plant is prepared, it should be disinfected and sterilized first so that it can be used with confidence to avoid diseases and pests in the later stage. The flower pot should also be prepared in advance, and it is best to use a flower pot with good air permeability.

2. Remove from the flowerpot: Stop watering the Jade Plant a few days before removing it from the pot. Keep the soil in the pot dry to avoid root damage. After taking the plant out, shake off the old soil next to the roots, cut off the roots that are too long and old, and keep the healthy roots.

3. Planting in a pot: spread a layer of expanded clay at the bottom of the pot, and then fill it with nutrient soil, filling it about two-thirds of the pot. Place the jade plant in the middle of the pot, hold the jade plant with one hand, and fill it with soil with the other hand to ensure that the roots can fit the soil.
