Taro planting time

Taro is generally planted in the spring of each year. The specific planting time is mostly concentrated between January and March, depending on the temperature and humidity during planting. Taro is native to my country and India. It likes a warm and humid environment and is suitable for planting in loose and fertile soil. During the growth period, the temperature needs to be kept above 20 degrees.

Taro planting methods and key points

1. Land preparation and fertilization

Taro is adaptable to a wide range of soils, usually fertile and deep clay soil. Before planting taro, pay attention to the need to maintain a row spacing of 80-100 cm, and then fertilize the ditch. Because taro needs a lot of fertilizer, so first of all, you must apply enough base fertilizer to make the taro grow better.

2. Sowing method

Before planting taro, you need to choose taro seeds that are free of diseases, insects and wounds, spread them out to dry for 3-4 days, and then use wet sand to germinate them. The indoor temperature needs to be maintained at 20-25℃ during germination. Generally, they can be planted after 20-30 days.

3. Watering management

When planting taro, it is necessary to carry out concentrated watering in the middle and late stages, that is, to maintain the moisture of the soil, and pay attention to drainage in the rainy season. When the outside temperature is low, be careful not to over-water. After it grows to the middle and late stages, you can water it every 15-20 days.

Things to note when planting taro

1. During the planting process of taro, it is necessary to pay attention to the control of its temperature and moisture, that is, to ensure that it is not too flooded or too dry, and also to pay attention to its planting temperature not being too low, otherwise it will affect its normal growth.

2. When planting taro, you must pay attention to preventing basic diseases and pests. During its growth process, it may encounter various bacterial erosions. Once discovered, treatment must be carried out in time. Generally, medication should be started before the disease occurs. At the same time, water and fertilizer management should be strengthened. According to different pests, the right medicine should be used.
