What is the best month to plant roses?

Which month is suitable for planting roses?

Roses can be planted all year round, but roses are most suitable for planting after the spring or after the leaves fall in autumn and before the winter freeze, which is around April to May and October to November, because the climate and light at this time are suitable for the growth of roses.

Rose planting method

1. Soil selection: Roses grow better in sandy soil with good air permeability and drainage ability. Use garden soil, leaf mold and rice husk ash in a ratio of 5:3:2 to make nutrient soil, or go to the market to buy special nutrient soil for roses, add appropriate amount of organic fertilizer and superphosphate solution, then stir evenly and put in the rose seeds.

2. Pruning branches and leaves: Pruning needs to be done appropriately in spring. Do not prune the branches and leaves multiple times. Generally, cut half of the branches and leaves on the main trunk to promote the growth of branches, and remove all poorly growing branches and diseased and insect-infested branches to promote the concentration of nutrients.

Points to note when planting roses

1. Watering: Roses have strict requirements for water. Generally, they should be watered every 4-5 days to keep the soil moist. In dry weather, the watering frequency can be increased appropriately, but water should not accumulate.

2. Light: Roses have a high demand for light and need sufficient sunlight to grow. When the light is insufficient, it is necessary to provide the roses with appropriate light supplementation. When the temperature is high and the light is strong, the number of light exposures should be appropriately reduced.
