Suitable planting time for Shandong Chinese cabbage

Shandong cabbage is planted in autumn. Due to its different varieties, the planting time is also different. If it is an early-maturing variety, it can be planted in early September, while the late-maturing variety is planted in late September. In addition, the climate in different regions is different, and the planting time will be delayed or advanced.

Shandong Chinese cabbage planting methods and key points

1. Shandong cabbage does not have high requirements for soil and can grow in many soil types, but it is best to choose sandy loam that is rich in organic matter, loose and fertile, and to prepare the land and apply rotted organic fertilizer in advance.

2. For Shandong cabbage, choose seeds that are cold-resistant and disease-free. Dry them in the sun for about 1-2 days before planting, then soak them in warm water at 55 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes, and then disinfect them with a solution of thiophanate-methyl.

3. When sowing Shandong cabbage seeds, pay attention to the planting density, then cover them with a thin layer of soil, water to keep the soil moist, and also do a good job of weeding.

Points to note when managing Chinese cabbage

Shandong Chinese cabbage is best planted in a place with sufficient light. If there is insufficient light, its yield will be seriously affected. However, shade measures should be taken in summer to prevent the leaves from being burned. The growth temperature of Shandong Chinese cabbage needs to be controlled between 10 degrees and 22 degrees. When the temperature is below 5 degrees, frost damage is likely to occur.
