Planting distance of carrots

The planting spacing of large red radishes should be determined based on the soil, fertilizer, water and other conditions of the site and the characteristics of the variety to choose a reasonable planting density.

For most large carrots, the row spacing is about 40 to 50 cm, and the plant spacing is preferably 40 cm. When cultivating in ridges, the row spacing should be double, with a distance of 54 to 60 cm, and the plant spacing should be 27 to 30 cm.

Generally, the row spacing for most medium-sized carrot varieties is about 17 to 27 cm, and the plant spacing is 17 to 20 cm. When sowing small all-season radishes, the distance between seedlings is 4 to 7 cm.

Yield of large red radish per mu

If a piece of land is well managed, the yield of big red radish can be around 5,000 kg, and in the best case, the yield can reach more than 6,000 kg. Big red radish is one of the specialties of Northeast my country. Due to the climate and the different varieties, big red radish has extremely high nutritional value and medicinal value.

Carrot harvest time

Big red radish is a very common variety of radish. According to the normal cultivation season of big red radish, it can be divided into two varieties: autumn radish and summer-autumn radish.

Generally, autumn radish is sown in mid-to-late July and can be harvested in mid-September, while summer-autumn radish is generally sown in May-June and can be harvested in July-August. It is not recommended to sow too early.
