How many crops of open-air cucumbers are planted in a year

Open-air cucumbers can only be planted once a year, in spring from April to May, when the daytime temperature is above 15°C and the lowest temperature at night is above 5°C. If in the south, you can choose to plant them from early April to mid-April.

Open-air cucumber planting conditions

1. Temperature

Cucumbers prefer a warm environment, and the most suitable growth temperature is 10 to 30 degrees Celsius. When cucumbers are in a high temperature state of 35 degrees Celsius, they may grow slowly, and when the temperature is i-2 to 0 degrees Celsius, they will be frozen to death.

2. Lighting

Open-air cucumbers in South China are more sensitive to short days, while open-air cucumbers in North China are not strict about the length of days. They have become day-neutral plants. When the light is at 8 to 11 hours, open-air cucumbers can grow better.

Open-pit cucumber harvest time

It takes about 60 days from sowing to harvesting cucumbers. In the early spring, cucumbers should be kept warm and protected from cold. Various measures should be taken to increase the night temperature to promote seedling acclimatization. It takes about 20 days from seedling acclimatization to the stage of melon growth. Water them after harvesting, once every 5 days. It is best to water them in the morning on sunny days, and once after a summer rainstorm. After a period of time, outdoor cucumbers will grow.
