How do passion fruit seeds germinate quickly? How long does it take to germinate using seeds?

Seed germination method

Step 1 : Select large, ripe passion fruit, break it open and scoop out the seeds with a spoon, place it in 30°C warm water, and gently rub off the pulp attached to the seeds with your hands.

Step 1 : Take out the black seeds and place them in a cool and ventilated place for 1-2 days to dry. Then place them on a clean, moist paper towel and spray water regularly.

Step 3 : Keep spraying water at intervals. Under the condition of ensuring warmth and humidity, generally small pointed light yellow buds will grow in just 3-5 days.

Passion fruit seed germination process

It takes about 3-5 days for passion fruit to germinate . After the seeds grow white buds, plant them in loose and breathable soil. You can cover the flowerpot with plastic film to maintain the temperature, but be sure to poke a few holes in the plastic film for ventilation.

After germination, move the flower pot to a place with scattered light and ventilation, spray water every day, and it only takes about 6 days for the planted passion fruit seeds to grow into green seedlings.

Passion fruit seed planting and harvesting

Passion fruit is planted by sowing and broadcasting, and it usually takes 1-2 years to bear fruit. Different climate conditions, management methods and different passion fruit varieties will also result in different harvest times. In addition, passion fruit grows quickly. It is sown in March and April each year, blooms in July, and can be picked when it is ripe in September.
