How to care for the Dingdangjin succulent and what kind of soil is best for planting it

Dingdangjin is a red lotus bridal variety with long oval leaves. However, after the bridal variety appears, the dark lines on the leaves are not obvious, and the color will turn into light yellow or yellow-white. In the autumn and winter seasons with sufficient light, the leaf edges of Dingdangjin will turn red, which is very beautiful.

Dingdangjin succulent cultivation

1. Lighting

Dingdangjin likes light very much. When cultivating it, you should let it get as much sun as possible. It can be placed in the light in spring, autumn and winter. It is best to give it full sun. The more sufficient the light, the more beautiful it will be. If it is placed in a hidden place, it will easily grow too tall, which is not conducive to its growth.

2. Watering

Dingdangjin succulent has a certain degree of drought resistance, so you don’t need to water it too frequently. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. Water it thoroughly when the soil is completely dry during the growing season. In winter and summer, the temperature is not suitable, and the growth rate is slow. You also need to control the water properly to avoid root rot.

3. Temperature

Dingdangjin succulent likes a warm environment, and is not resistant to high temperatures or cold. The temperature in spring and autumn is suitable, which is the period of vigorous growth. In the high temperature in summer, it needs more ventilation and timely shading to cool it down so that it can survive the summer smoothly. In winter, it needs to be moved indoors, and the indoor temperature should be above 10 degrees to avoid frostbite and allow it to survive the winter smoothly.

4. Soil

The soil for growing jingle plants must be loose, breathable and have a high drainage capacity. If the proportions of the soil cannot be well controlled, it is recommended to purchase special soil for succulents for cultivation. In addition, when potting, a layer of gravel should be placed at the bottom of the pot. This can improve the drainage capacity and avoid water accumulation.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Dingdangjin

1. As a variegated variety, Dingdangjin is not as sun-resistant as ordinary succulents. There is no problem in keeping it in an environment with sufficient light. However, when the ultraviolet rays are strong or the temperature is high, it must be shaded in time, otherwise its leaves will be sun-dried to death, leaving many ugly spots.

2. When caring for the Dingdangjin plant, you must also strictly control the amount of water. Each time you water it, you must wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry. Otherwise, it will not only grow too tall, but also suffer from waterlogging, black rot and other conditions.
