"Since they are not available in the supermarket, I placed an order online. I now have a box of candles at home, with more than 30 candles in total." Mr Zhou said that ordering candles online does not have much impact at present, the goods can be delivered on time and the price is cheaper than in the supermarket.

Candle manufacturers see surge in orders

"At present, our inventory has been cleared, and the factory is doing its best to produce new candles." The person in charge said that due to the power outage, the company's turnover has surged this week, and the inventory has been gone, while the number of new orders is still increasing. However, due to the power rationing requirements, the production plant will occasionally fall into the situation of power outages and suspension of production. "We can only ensure production as much as possible and produce more candles when conditions permit."

After consulting with several candle manufacturers on the wholesale online shopping platform, we learned that there has indeed been a surge in candle orders recently. Many candle merchants from Yiwu, Zhejiang said that they are currently out of stock and are only accepting pre-orders.
