How to care for old jasmine piles? Cultivation methods and precautions for old jasmine piles

·

If the old jasmine is well-maintained, it can bloom continuously. When placed indoors, it is full of fragrance and fresh and pleasant. So, what is the method of cultivating old jasmine? You need to pay attention to the following 3 aspects.

Select pot

Old jasmine plants need to be grown in clay pots that are just big enough to hold the roots of the plant. Pots that are too big or too small are not conducive to the growth of the roots.

When growing old jasmine, it is very important to choose a pot. The pot should be a ceramic pot with good air permeability. Plastic pots are not airtight and are prone to water accumulation. Once the roots of old jasmine accumulate water, the roots will rot and the flowers and leaves will fall off.

The flowerpot should not be too big or too small, it should be just right for the growth of the root system. Only when the root system grows well can the plant grow well and bloom.

I used to grow a pot of jasmine, but because the pot I chose was too big, when I watered it, the water in the soil evaporated slowly, causing the roots to rot. I had to cut off the rotten roots and replant it.

soil

Old jasmine plants need to be grown in loose and breathable soil, which can be made of leaf mold, pine needle soil, river sand and vermiculite in a ratio of 4:3:2:1.

Loose and breathable soil can accelerate the evaporation of water and avoid root rot. Leaf mold and pine needle soil are both good choices. In order to increase the drainage capacity of the soil, some vermiculite can also be mixed into the soil.

illumination

Old jasmine plants like light, so you can place the plants on the south-facing balcony or bay window indoors to allow the plants to receive sufficient light.

Whether there is enough light is the key factor for whether the old jasmine can bloom. If you grow it indoors, you must put the plant on the balcony or bay window with the best lighting. At night, if you don’t like the fragrance of jasmine, you can move the plant to the living room and grow it on the balcony during the day.
