Where does corn grow? On the ground or on trees? What do the corn fruits grow on?

Corn is a common food crop with high market demand. In recent months, corn prices have risen rapidly, and market consumption enthusiasm has been high, bringing rich profits to corn growers. So where does corn grow? On the ground or on trees?

Where does corn grow?

Corn grows in the middle part of the corn stalk . Corn is an important grain in China. The main producing area is in Northeast China, including Jilin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Shaanxi.

These production areas have excellent production conditions, fertile soil, sufficient sunlight, and can easily achieve high yields. The corn production in Shandong and Heilongjiang ranks first in the country . However, the output quality of corn has declined to a certain extent, but the economic benefits of corn production are still good.

How many corns grow on the corn tree

A corn seedling usually produces one to two cobs, and at most three cobs. Some growers find that corn has many cobs, which is actually abnormal.

Because, a normal corn cob has about 400-600 kernels, but a plant with multiple ears, although there are more corn cobs, only 20-30 kernels are on each cob. In severe cases, there are no kernels at all, forming empty cobs, which seriously reduces the yield.

How to choose high quality corn

1. Observe the appearance of corn

The size, color, shape, and color of corn seeds can all be judged. The better the quality, the fuller the kernels, the brighter the color, and the better the commercial quality. If the corn kernels are moldy, insect-eaten, or dull in color, the quality is definitely poor.

2. Smell

High-quality corn generally has a strong corn aroma. If the corn seeds have a sour and moldy smell, it means that the corn has deteriorated and is definitely not high-quality corn.

3. Taste

After being steamed, the kernels of high-quality corn will become fuller. Really high-quality corn tastes particularly sweet and soft. If the corn is old, the taste is rough and not fresh, then the quality of the corn is poor.

4. Look at the hardness

When you squeeze fresh corn with your hands, it feels soft, and the kernels are full and sweet, so you can eat it fresh. If it is older corn, the kernels will be shriveled and hard, and the same is true for malnourished corn, so it is not recommended.
