How to judge whether the camellia should be watered How to judge whether the camellia should be watered

Camellia prefers to grow in a humid environment. Water it frequently but not too much, as this will easily lead to root rot. Normally, water it after the soil is dry. This will ensure sufficient water without affecting the growth of camellia. Just keep the soil moist as much as possible.

How to judge whether it is time to water the camellia

When it is time to water the camellia, the tips of its leaves will curl down , and the soil will be relatively dry . Also, if the soil in the pot is still wet, but the leaves wilt , it means that the water is not transported to the branches and leaves. You can spray water around the leaves to increase the humidity.

When watering camellia, you must grasp the timing. In the summer when the temperature is relatively high, you should water it in the morning and evening , not at noon, otherwise the water will evaporate quickly, affecting the root development of the camellia. In the winter when the temperature is relatively low, watering should be done at noon , which is conducive to the plant's absorption of water.

Camellia watering method

When watering camellia, be careful not to water it all at once after it is completely dry, as this will cause water to flow out of the gaps and prevent the roots from absorbing water. Water a little bit along the edge of the pot first , wait for about 20-30 minutes, and when the leaves of the camellia begin to stand upright , water it slowly again until water flows out from the bottom of the pot .

What happens if you overwater your camellia?

If you water the camellia too much, it will not only affect the growth of the plant , but in severe cases it will also cause its roots to rot and die . Usually you need to drain the excess water first, then put the plant in a well-ventilated place, loosen the soil appropriately, and accelerate the evaporation of water in the soil.

If water has been stagnant for a while, remove the plant from the pot and check whether the roots are rotten. Cut off the rotten roots and replant with dry soil.
