1. Variety selection

There are many varieties of peony, and it is best to choose varieties with medium-dwarf, strong, upright and strong resistance , such as Pink Jade Slave, Zhushapan, Dafugui, Liantai, Yingxionghua, Dahongpao, Hongchahua, etc.

2. Land preparation

Peony planting requires deep, loose and well-drained sandy loam, preferably neutral or slightly acidic soil . Fertile soil is better for growth, but be careful not to over-nitrogenize it. After selecting a good site, apply 3000-4000 kg of organic fertilizer per mu and 50-60 kg of triple compound fertilizer as base fertilizer, plow 60 cm deep, and harrow and level the soil.

3. Planting

When planting peonies, plant them at a spacing of 50×30cm and a hole depth of 12cm. When planting, first water the planting hole sufficiently, then spread 4cm thick rotted manure on the bottom of the hole, cover with 4cm of soil, and then place the peony buds in the middle of the hole with the tip facing up. Put 1-2 peony buds in each hole, and build up the soil in each hole to 10-15cm high.
