1. Cutting time

Feather maple is mostly propagated by cuttings in spring, but it can also be done in summer, but the survival rate will be lower. Generally speaking, it is most suitable to propagate cuttings in April and May each year , and the plant growth state is the best.

2. Prepare the substrate

Feather maple likes loose, fertile, breathable slightly acidic soil . You can choose leaf mold, garden soil, and perlite, mix them evenly in a ratio of 6:3:1 as the culture soil, and add 3-5 grains of compound organic fertilizer.

3. Choose cuttings

On the feather maple plants that are growing very well, select thick and disease-free branches , remove all the leaves at the base, keep 2-3 tender leaves at the top, and process the bottom of the branches into a 45° slope. Soak in the rooting water solution for 10-20 minutes, take out and place in a well-ventilated cool place to dry.

4. Cuttings

Prepare a flower pot of the right size, place gravel at the bottom of the pot, fill it with soil and smooth it out. Use chopsticks or a wooden stick to poke a few holes in the soil, 3-4 cm deep and 4-5 cm apart.
