Choose potting soil

Plum blossoms can be planted in pots , but plastic and porcelain pots are generally not recommended. It is best to use ceramic or tile pots with good air permeability. The soil should be loose, fertile and well-ventilated. Humus, coal slag and garden soil can be mixed in a ratio of 3:3:4.

Fertilization

If you want the plum blossoms to grow luxuriantly, it is best to mix some compound fertilizer into the soil as base fertilizer. When the branches and leaves of the plum blossoms sprout, apply organic liquid fertilizer 1-2 times a month. In late summer and early autumn, apply decomposed cake fertilizer water once to promote the growth of flower buds. In addition, it is better to apply light fertilizer rather than thick fertilizer.

Watering

Normally, watering should be done after the soil is dry, and water thoroughly at one time. The water temperature should not be too cold. In addition, when the flower buds differentiate in June and July, watering should be done after the leaves of the plum blossoms curl up, so that the plum blossoms can bloom better.

Light and temperature

Plum blossoms like light, so when growing them in pots, you must ensure that they receive sufficient light . Except for the summer when they need to be properly shaded, it is best to keep them in full sunlight in other seasons. Plum blossoms do not require high temperatures, so they can generally be placed outdoors. If you move them to a place with a higher temperature in winter, their flowers will tend to wither early.

If you grow plum blossoms in the north, because its roots are relatively fragile. It is also sensitive to water and fertilizer, usually you need to keep the soil moist for normal breathing. Try not to water a lot in the winter in the north to avoid frostbite the roots. In addition to applying nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers in time, you also need to apply organic fertilizers once in winter.
