Planting technology and management of snow peas

The cultivation of snow peas has enriched the types of economic crops in many areas of our country and promoted the optimization of the agricultural industrial structure. Before planting, we must first prepare the seeds, then germinate the seeds, soak the seeds in concentrated salt water for 12 hours, and disinfect them with hot water. This can increase the yield. Plant them in pots before sowing, and keep a distance between the seeds. After planting the seeds, water the soil thoroughly. Wait about 3-5 days and the snow peas will germinate.

Snow pea planting technology

1. Lighting

Snow peas need a lot of light when growing, only in this way can they bloom early and increase yield and quality, especially during the pod-setting period, but be careful not to keep snow peas in a high temperature climate for a long time.

2. Soil

Snow peas do not have very high requirements for soil, but if you want higher quality fruits, it is best to choose soil with a high organic matter content. If the acidity is too low, the incidence of diseases will increase.

3. Moisture

After the snow pea seedlings grow out, their demand for water will decrease, but if they are not replenished with water in time after the pods grow, the snow peas will mature prematurely.

4. Pests and diseases

Snow pea seeds need to be disinfected before sowing to avoid infection with powdery mildew and downy mildew. If pests and diseases are found, the diseased plants should be pulled out immediately and destroyed.

Snow pea management methods

1. Fertilizer and water management

Snow peas need a lot of fertilizer when growing. During the planting process, top dressing should be done at least three times according to the actual situation. Urea can be used as fertilizer to ensure the growth of the plant.

2. Plant adjustment

Only reasonable shaping and pruning can effectively ensure the success of planting. Be careful not to damage the roots of the plants, cut off excess branches, enhance permeability, and accelerate the growth of the plants.

3. Disease prevention and control

When growing snow peas, special attention should be paid to disease prevention and control, so disinfection work should be carried out regularly, and corresponding prevention and control measures should be taken in a timely manner if suspected diseases are found.

4. Harvest at the right time

Snow peas need to grow for a year, so the mature snow peas should be picked in time to prevent the new and old pods from competing for nutrients with each other and affecting the growth and development of the new pods.
