Cultivation methods and precautions of red-backed peperomia

Cultivation methods and precautions of red-backed peperomia

Red-backed peperomia is a kind of succulent grass. It is very easy to grow. Many people like to grow it as a succulent. It has strong shade tolerance. Generally, after it is potted, it can grow normally by placing it in a bright and well-ventilated environment indoors.

How to grow red pepper grass

1. Choose a pot

When growing red-backed peperomia, you must choose a good flower pot. Generally speaking, it is best to choose a pot with good air permeability, because it is not easy to cause root rot of the plant. It is best to have a hole under the flower pot to facilitate observation of the amount of watering.

2. Soil

Red-backed peperomia likes nutritious soil with high air permeability. We can prepare the soil ourselves by mixing leaf mold, coarse sand, and garden soil in a ratio of 1:2:1. If conditions permit, we can also add a small amount of decomposed horse manure and other farmyard manure as base fertilizer.

3. Lighting

Red-backed peperomia is a plant that needs plenty of sunlight, which can make its red color more vivid, but it should be noted that it is suitable for 70% shade in summer, otherwise it will easily rot.

4. Temperature

The most suitable temperature for its growth is around 18~28℃. Ensuring this condition can promote its vigorous growth and keep the plant full. If the temperature is lower than 5℃, it may cause frostbite and needs to be moved to a warmer place for cultivation.

Red back peperomia care precautions

1. Do a good job of water control

When the temperature is relatively low in winter, red-backed peperomia needs to control water appropriately and keep the soil in the pot in a relatively dry state, otherwise its roots will not be able to absorb water quickly, resulting in root suffocation.

2. Take shelter from the rain

Generally speaking, this plant is afraid of long-term rain, so during the rainy season in summer, we need to move it to a place without rain to avoid the plant from turning black and wilting.
