Greenhouse pepper planting technology and management

Greenhouse pepper planting technology and management

Chili is a very good condiment and is available in every region. Because it is a seasonal vegetable, it is now grown using greenhouse technology, allowing us to eat it anytime and anywhere. From south to north, this planting technology has been widely used.

Greenhouse pepper planting time

Greenhouse planting of peppers can be divided into two types: spring sowing and autumn sowing. Spring planting of peppers is generally around January, which is most suitable for growth. The earliest sowing can be done is in late October. Autumn planting is from July to August.

Greenhouse pepper planting technology

When planting peppers in a greenhouse, it is best to choose varieties that are high-yield, high-quality, disease-resistant, cold-resistant, and resistant to low temperatures and weak light. When raising seedlings, there are geothermal lines in the greenhouse for heating. The seedling raising date can be pushed back about ten days. When the seedlings reach four leaves and one heart, they are transplanted to the seedbed and divided. When dividing the seedlings, try to bring as much soil as possible to reduce root damage. Before planting, the soil in the greenhouse needs to be deeply turned over, and decomposed organic fertilizer is applied per acre as base fertilizer. There are two forms of planting: double plants and single plants.

Greenhouse pepper management methods

When managing, the main focus in winter is to prevent cold and keep warm. After transplanting, cover with multiple layers to increase the temperature to prevent frost damage and keep the greenhouse temperature between 20 and 30 degrees. Do not water too much when transplanting in early spring to prevent lowering the ground temperature. Water once a week to help the seedlings grow and also once a week during the fruit expansion period.

Combine foliar fertilizer spraying with pesticides for disease and pest control to enhance the cold resistance of plants. In summer, when covering the greenhouse with shade nets, use film pressing lines when there are strong winds to prevent strong winds from tearing off the greenhouse film and shade nets.
