Cultivation methods and precautions of Pansy

Pansies are very easy to grow. The pansies you buy come with simple pots, so you can keep them directly in the original pot, or wait for one week before repotting them at home and then change to a pot you like. When repotting, choose horticultural soil, comb the roots properly, and then plant them.

How to cultivate Pansy

Pansies do not need too much light and can grow in dark places. The temperature should be controlled at around 10-15 degrees. If the temperature is higher than 30 degrees, pansies will not be able to grow. Pansies like a cool environment. Pay attention to drainage and ventilation. Appropriate fertilizer can be applied during the flowering period, which will help the growth of pansies.

1. Lighting

Pansy is not very sensitive to light. When there is sufficient sunlight, the plant can grow more branches. Keeping it in a dark place will not have much impact on its growth.

2. Flower soil

Flower soil needs to be slightly acidic, with a pH value between 5.5-6.5 being better. It also requires strong drainage and high fertility. You can mix equal amounts of perlite and peat soil evenly as flower soil.

3. Temperature

Pansy is relatively cold-resistant, and even a slight frost cannot do anything to it. The optimum temperature for plant growth is 10-15 degrees Celsius, and the growth of plants is restricted above 30 degrees Celsius. Pansy cultivated in southern my country does not need to be kept warm in winter.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Pansy

When caring for pansy, you must pay attention to the fact that the plant cannot withstand high temperatures. In summer, ensure good ventilation, lower the temperature, and spray water frequently. The most common diseases and pests of its plants are aphids, thrips, red spider mites, downy mildew, ring rot, etc. When the disease occurs, you can use pesticides to prevent and control it. In addition, controlling the pH value of the flower soil can reduce the incidence rate.
