Pick up a small pine cone on the roadside and bury it in the soil and it will sprout

During the Chinese New Year, you can go hiking or stroll in the park, and you can pick up small pine cones under the pine trees and take home the ones with seeds inside.

Soak the lower part of the small pine cones you picked up and bring them home in clean water. Be careful not to soak it too deep, because the bulbs of the pine cones will be tightly closed when exposed to water, and only the parts with less water on the top can open and sprout.

After the small pine cone sprouts, place it horizontally in the soil with the side with fewer sprouts facing downward. Cover half of the pine cone with soil. When you feel the soil surface turn white, water it thoroughly.

Pick up the fruits under the ginkgo tree and throw them into the soil and they will survive

You can pick up ginkgo nuts on the roadside, or buy a bag in the supermarket. Then bite a hole in the ginkgo fruit like you would a melon seed, being careful not to damage the kernel inside.

Place the broken ginkgo nuts flat on a damp paper towel or sphagnum moss where the sun can’t reach them. They will usually sprout and reveal their little white legs in 3 to 5 days.

After the seeds germinate, lay them flat on the soil surface and cover them with a thin layer of soil so that the seeds cannot be seen. Water them thoroughly and then increase the light after the new sprouts emerge.

Save a big walnut for the New Year, soak it in water and it will take root

We always have to eat some nuts snacks during the Chinese New Year. As long as the walnuts are raw, we can soak them in water to sprout them and plant them in the soil to grow into small potted plants.

Soak the walnuts in water, change the water every two days, and place them where they cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. The walnuts will crack and sprout in about 15 days.

Then place the sprouted walnuts flat or half-bury them in the soil. The first sprout that appears, that is, the root of the walnut should face downward. Water them thoroughly and wait until the leaves grow out to expose them to light and the sun.

You have to keep two chestnuts, throw them into the soil and they will sprout

Take a disposable takeout box, put a few damp paper towels on the bottom of the box, then place the chestnuts on the paper towels, cover the box with the lid, and you can poke a few holes in the lid.

After the small buds on the chestnut heads emerge, place the chestnuts flat on the soil surface, with the sprouting (root) end of the chestnut facing downwards, and place them in a well-lit and ventilated place for maintenance.

After planting, chestnuts will follow the power of nature and take root naturally. When you feel the soil surface turning white, water it thoroughly. After the first true leaf grows out, move it to the sun for maintenance.

These seed potted plants are all tall trees, so if you have a yard at home, you can wait for the seedlings to grow up and transplant them to the yard. You can also enjoy the cool under the trees in the summer.
